Kay Uí Chinnéide sent me a lovely e-mail. She has a great web site called Gaeilge na Seachtaine (Gaelic of the Week). It's really worth visiting often. Here is the link (copy and paste into your browser):

It's good to be back!

Greetings to all Kennedys. It has been delightful to hear from so many Kennedys in the US, Australia and the UK, as well as in Ireland. I'm sorry that I have not replied personally to some of you, by this time at least. I have just completed an MPhil degree on the Irish Celtic Church. It's been a big project for me and a great thrill to work on. It's also great to have more time back to work on other projects.

By the way, most of you have been asking about membership of the Irish Kennedy Clan group - if you have received a link to this web site, then you are already a member! At some point I want to produce numbered and signed membership certificates and make them available to any of you that would like them.

Do keep writing to me and keep in touch.

Le gach dea-ghuí,

Tomás Ua Cinnéide

Adhaereo Virtuti.

Follow this link here for further information.

It is our hope that the Kennedy's will be represented. Please spread the word.

Here are links to other Ua Cinnéide sites:

Clan Kennedy Has an interesting account of the family name.

Cinnéide The main focus seems to be on genealogy, but may become a portal site in the future.

My thanks to Clayton Cannaday for these links.

Join with us!

Would you like to join with other members of the Ua Cinnéide Clans? If your father was a member of any of the Kennedy clans you are already qualified to join! As of now there is no fee for joining, that may come later of course. Send me an email if you want to join. Link to the Clans of Ireland Ltd site.

Good News!

The Clans of Ireland have been in touch to say that we are now officially recognised by them as the representative group for the Ua Cinnéide clans (O'Kennedy, Kennedy etc.).

This is the Kennedy Coat of Arms that we will be using for this site and other communications.

We have applied to The Clans of Ireland for recognition as the official Kennedy Clan organisation.

The Coat of Arms in the picture are those of Roderick Kennedy, Chief of his nation. There are the oldest coat of arms in the National Library.
